Tabuni is a London-based ensemble of women with a passion for the traditional songs of the Caucasus nation of Georgia. Led by Tamta Turmanidze from the Georgian capital Tbilisi, the group sings songs for celebrating and dancing, worship and mourning, along with lullabies and healing songs from the traditional domain of women in Georgian folk culture. The name Tabuni means a guild or gathering of individuals who meet to create something special, and its members, who are from Georgia, the UK and continental Europe, bring a wide range of interests and experience to the group.
