Professor David Nutt

The brilliant and controversial scientist David Nutt talks about the impact of psychedelics on the brain. He lives in Bristol and is currently the Head of the Centre for Neuropsychopharmacology in the Division of Brain Science at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College London.
He’s been a Wellcome Senior Fellow in psychiatry, spent two years in the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism in the States and set up the Psychopharmacology Unit in Bristol University. David is currently President of the European Brain Council and Chair of DrugScience. In 2010 The Times Eureka science magazine voted him one of the 100 most important figures in British Science, and the only psychiatrist in the list. In 2013 he was awarded the John Maddox Prize from Nature/Sense about Science and in 2014 his book Drugs:without the hot air won the Transmission Prize for Communication
