Jo Brand

Since leaving her job as a psychiatric nurse in 1987, Jo Brand has built a large following across the UK as a writer, broadcaster and stand up comedienne. She appears on television regularly, with examples including her award-winning Channel 4 show, Jo Brand Through The Cakehole, as well as stints on BBC’s Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Absolutely Fabulous and Question Time. She won the 2011 BAFTA for Best Female Comedy Performance in her series Getting On, which has received much critical acclaim. She is also the author of two autobiographies, Look Back In Hunger and Can’t Stand Up For Sitting Down, and has recently presented the sister show to The Great British Bake Off, entitled An Extra Slice.
