Dr Matthew Green is a writer, historian and broadcaster with a PhD in the history of London from Oxford University. He is the author of London: A Travel Guide Through Time, published by Penguin in June 2015. Aside from books, he writes historical features for the Telegraph and Guardian, appears in documentaries on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, has been the guest historian on Radio 4's Long View, and gives talks all over London. He is the co-founder of Unreal City Audio, which produces immersive, critically acclaimed tours of London as live events, audio downloads and apps. He passionate about bringing history to life through books, tours, talks, TV and radio.

Simon Munnery is an award-winning comedian. Often experimenting with form, he has been described by Time Out as ‘an avant-garde comedy god’. He has recently been featured on Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle, The Culture Show, Alternative Comedy Experience, and The News Quiz. He is a British Comedy Award nominee, and Chortle, Perrier, Barry and Sony Radio Award winner. His latest project Fylm stabs at the void between film and theatre, involving visual sketches performed by Simon amongst the audience, and projected live on screen.

Deborah Levy trained at Dartington College of Arts leaving in 1981 to write a number of plays, highly acclaimed for their "intellectual rigour, poetic fantasy and visual imagination", including Pax and Heresies for the Royal Shakespeare, Deborah's early novels, Beautiful Mutants, Swallowing Geography and The Unloved have just been reprinted by Penguin. Her new acclaimed autobiographical essay, Things I Don't Want to Know, a response to Orwell's essay, Why I Write, was described by The Guardian as "original, unmissable, like chancing upon an oasis. The writing is of such quality that you want to drink it slowly." It is now out in paperback, also published by Penguin. In 2012 Deborah was nominated for the Booker Prize for her novel Swimming Home. She has always written across a number of art forms, theatre, performance, visual art and was AHRB Fellow at the Royal College of Art from 2006-9.  

Dr. Anna Whitelock is a senior lecturer in early modern history at Royal Holloway, University of London. She lectures on political, social and cultural history in the sixteenth and seventeenth century and is director of the Centre for Public History, Heritage and Engagement with the Past. She is the author of Mary Tudor: England’s First Queen (2009), and the winner of the 2010 Arts Club Emerging Writer Award. She was also short-listed for the Biographer’s club Best First Biography Prize. Additionally, she writes and reviews for The Telegraph, The Guardian, the Times Literary Supplement, and The New York Times, and regularly appears on television. Her latest book is Elizabeth’s Bedfellows: An Intimate History of the Queen’s Court (2013).

Steve Jones is Professor of Genetics at University College London and the president of the Galton Institute. He delivered the BBC Reith Lectures in 1991, appears frequently on radio and television and is a regular columnist for the Daily Telegraph. His most recent book, The Serpent’s Promise, considers the Bible from a scientific perspective.
