Michael Connelly is the bestselling author of 27 novels and one work of non-fiction. With more than 58 million copies of his books sold worldwide and translated into 39 foreign languages, he is one of the world’s most successful writers. Michael was a crime reporter for the Los Angeles Times and has won numerous awards for his journalism and his fiction, including the Edgar Award. He is currently working on the production of the TV series Bosch, an adaptation of his bestselling novels featuring his long-standing character, LAPD detective Hieronymus Bosch.
Investigative journalist Kate McClymont is Australia’s most-awarded journalist, and one of the best known. As a crime reporter for The Sydney Morning Herald, Kate spends her time writing about some of the shadiest characters in Sydney. Once derided by Paul Keating for “chasing subterranean odours”, Kate has unearthed some of the underworld’s most fascinating tales of betrayal, corruption and crime. Her phone’s been tapped, she’s had police security, and received death threats in the aftermath of her Gold Walkley-winning expose of the Bulldogs salary cap scandal. Her most recent book, co-written with Linton Besser, is He Who Must Be Obeid.
Australian violinist, conductor and composer, Richard Tognetti has established an international reputation for his compelling performances and artistic individualism. His numerous arrangements and compositions have expanded the chamber orchestra repertoire and been performed throughout the world, and his recordings of Bach’s solo violin repertoire for ABC Classics were acclaimed with three consecutive ARIA awards. Richard has collaborated with colleagues from across various art forms and artistic styles, including Joseph Tawadros, Dawn Upshaw, Jack Thompson, Katie Noonan, Neil Finn, Bill Henson and Michael Leunig.
Omar Musa is a Malaysian-Australian rapper and poet from Queanbeyan, Australia. He is the former winner of the Australian Poetry Slam and the Indian Ocean Poetry Slam. He has released three hip hop albums, two poetry books (including Parang), appeared on ABC's Q&A and received a standing ovation at TEDx Sydney at the Sydney Opera House. He is currently working on a play, 'Bonegatherer'. His first novel,Here Come the Dogs, was described by Irvine Welsh as a ‘stunning debut novel [with] such swaggering exuberance that it will make most other fiction you read this year seem criminally dull’.
Adam Liaw is a cook, TV presenter and writer based in Sydney, Australia. Adam was the winner of MasterChef Australia’s hugely popular second season, the #1 most watched non-sporting event in Australian television history. Adam was born in Malaysia and moved to Australia at a young age. He has lived and worked around the world including Australia, China, Malaysia, New Zealand, India and most recently a 7-year stint in Tokyo, Japan. Adam currently hosts the primetime food and travel program Destination Flavour on Australia’s SBS network, and he is the author of three cookbooks – Asian After Work, Adam’s Big Pot and Two Asian Kitchens. He writes a regular column for The Wall Street Journal’s Scene Asia and contributes regularly to Australian newspapers and magazines. Adam is a qualified lawyer and is currently UNICEF Australia’s National Ambassador for Nutrition.
